Lions Club of Karimganj Celebrates Teachers’ Day On 5th September, Lions Club of Karimganj observed Teachers’ Day at our Service Centre with deep respect and heartfelt gratitude for the guiding lights of society. On this special occasion, two eminent retired teachers from Sribhumi Town were felicitated for their remarkable contributions in the field of education and social service. Sir Bhupendra Das, retired Principal of Kushiarkul High School, has not only shaped countless young lives as an educator but continues to serve as an active social worker, tirelessly working for the betterment of society. Smt. Jharna Dhar, who retired as a teacher of Duttapur M.V. School, remains an inspiring figure. Even after her retirement, she chose to continue her noble journey by joining a private rural school, spreading the light of knowledge to young minds. Alongside, she too is actively engaged in social service, dedicating herself to the upliftment of society. Their lives are living examples of what Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan envisioned when he wished for his birthday to be celebrated as Teachers’ Day—a day to honor the hard work, selflessness, and dedication of true teachers. The program, held under the able leadership of President Ln. Jaishree Gang and with the devoted efforts of Project Chairperson Ln. Souvik Dey, turned out to be a grand success. It was graced by 20 Lion members along with their families, making the celebration more meaningful and memorable.
