Lions Club of Guwahati Global celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on 14 September 2026 with great devotion, joy, and spiritual enthusiasm, seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings. Following the traditional puja and religious rituals, the idol of Lord Ganesha was brought home and worshipped for one and a half days. The celebration created a devotional atmosphere filled with prayers, faith, and positive energy. Family members, friends, devotees, and visitors gathered throughout the celebration to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. As part of the celebration, prasad, including traditional modaks and laddoos, was distributed among devotees and visitors. Approximately 50 people visited during the celebration, sharing in the festive spirit and strengthening the bonds of faith, friendship, and community togetherness. The distribution of prasad reflected the spirit of devotion, generosity, and sharing. On the following day, after the completion of the traditional prayers and rituals, the Ganpati idol was respectfully taken to the mighty Brahmaputra River for Ganpati Visarjan (immersion). The ceremony marked the conclusion of the celebration, with prayers for peace, prosperity, happiness, and the well-being of all.
