Raksha Bandhan Celebration with BSF and NDRF Jawans

Long Activity Description: Lions Club of Guwahati Parvarish, in association with Leo Club of Umang, organised a special Raksha Bandhan Celebration with the brave Jawans of NDRF and BSF, Guwahati, on 26th August 2026. The initiative was organised as a heartfelt gesture of respect, gratitude and solidarity towards the men in uniform who dedicate their lives to protecting the nation and serving citizens during emergencies and disasters. Members tied Rakhis to the Jawans, symbolising the special bond of brotherhood, trust and affection, and thanked them for their courage, sacrifice and selfless service. The programme witnessed the presence of approximately 205 Jawans, 15 Lions members and 10 Leo members. Sweets were distributed among the Jawans as part of the celebration, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, happiness and patriotism. One of the most memorable moments of the programme was when the Jawans performed three songs for the Lions and Leo members as a special gesture of affection and appreciation. Their performances made the occasion even more joyful and emotional and strengthened the bond between the members and the Jawans. The entire programme was organised and coordinated within a very short span of time, with special efforts by Lion Ravi Kundliya, whose support and coordination played an important role in making the event possible. The celebration was a truly memorable experience for the entire Lions and Leo family and provided an opportunity to personally express gratitude to our brave Jawans. The project beautifully reflected the spirit of service, fellowship and national pride embodied in the club's theme — “Seva Se Pehchan"
