Lions Club of Guwahati City Organises Free Artificial Limb & Calliper Camp Guwahati, 12 September 2026: Lions Club of Guwahati City, under Lions International, District 322G, in association with Jaipur Foot (BMVSS), successfully organised a Free Artificial Limb & Calliper Camp at House No. 50, GMC Road, Kachari Basti, Guwahati. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by President Lion Shyam Singhania, who welcomed the District dignitaries, Jaipur Foot team, beneficiaries and fellow Lions. He highlighted the club’s commitment to undertaking meaningful service initiatives that restore mobility, dignity and independence. The camp provided 10 artificial limbs and 3 callipers, benefiting a total of 13 persons and helping them move towards greater independence and confidence. Lion Sujit Bakharedia, 2nd Vice District Governor, addressed the gathering and appreciated the humanitarian initiative. He emphasised that restoring mobility goes beyond physical assistance—it gives a person renewed confidence, dignity and opportunities to participate more independently in everyday life. Lion Anil Garg, District Chairperson – Artificial Limb & Calliper, spoke about the importance of reaching out to persons requiring mobility assistance and encouraged Lions to identify more beneficiaries so that such services can be extended further. Project Chairperson Lion R.K. Poddar shared details of the project and thanked Jaipur Foot (BMVSS), District leaders, club members and everyone involved in coordinating and successfully conducting the camp. President Lion Shyam Singhania, in his address, reiterated that service creates its greatest impact when it brings a lasting positive change to an individual’s life. He thanked all those who supported the initiative. The programme was also graced by Lion Sunil Ajitsaria, District PRO.
