On 25th August 2024, the Lions Club of Agartala ANISH conducted a major disaster relief operation in response to the severe floods that affected Tripura. The relief efforts took place across multiple regions, including Kakraban in the Gomati District. With support from Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), the club distributed essential supplies to over 350 families. The relief kits included: • 1040 kg of rice • 210 kg of dal • 480 packets of milk • 1080 liters of bottled water • 400 packets of biscuits • Other essentials like soybeans, mustard oil, and spices In addition to providing food and water, the team faced challenging conditions. One member, Balraj Singh, used a wooden canoe to deliver relief materials to 40 families in the inaccessible village of Jamjali. The effort was coordinated with local authorities such as the SDM of Udaipur and the BDO of Kakraban RD block . The Lions Club remains committed to ongoing relief activities until the region fully recovers from the disaster.
