Vision: Eye Screening Camp at Vivekananda Vidyalaya

Guwahati, Aug 14, 2026: Following a successful initial drive, the Lions Club of Guwahati South extended its community health initiative today with a second Eye Screening Camp at Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Lalganesh, targeting students from Classes 8 to 10. Conducted in collaboration with medical specialists and doctors from Centre for Sight, today’s camp focused on identifying vision problems and eye ailments among older students. This follows yesterday’s drive—conducted alongside Lions Eye Hospital—which covered younger students from Classes 1 to 7. During today's assessments: Comprehensive Screenings: Medical teams conducted routine vision tests and specialized eye health checks for senior classes. Follow-up Care: Students diagnosed with refractive errors or other vision issues were referred to Centre for Sight for advanced diagnostic evaluations and treatment. The two-day initiative highlights the Lions Club’s continued dedication to school health programs, ensuring students across all grade levels receive essential vision care to support their academic and personal well-being.
