Guwahati, August 15: The Lions Club of Guwahati South and the Leo Club of Guwahati South celebrated the 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor by unfurling the National Flag, alongside organizing a major commemorative chess tournament at South Point School today. The flag unfurl ceremony was held in the presence of Charter Member Krishanjan Chanda, highlighting the leadership and enduring community service commitment of the club members. Following the hoisting of the National Flag, the joint Independence Day chess tournament—co-organized by the Lions Club of Guwahati South, Lions Club of Eminence, and the Assam Chess Club—was formally inaugurated.
