LCAG Organises Menstrual Health & Hygiene Awareness Campaign at MGM Class XII School, Agartala Agartala, 12 September 2026: As part of its ongoing commitment towards community health awareness and women’s health, the Lions Club of Agartala Green (LCAG), District 322G, organised an awareness campaign on Menstrual Cycle and Menstrual Hygiene among the girl students of MGM Class XII School, Agartala, today from 12:00 noon to 2 PM. The awareness programme was conducted by Dr. Sulakshana Mitra, MD, and Dr. Sanghamitra Singha, MD, of Agartala Government Medical College & GBP Hospital (AGMC & GBPH). Through interactive lectures and pictorial demonstrations, the doctors explained various aspects of the menstrual cycle, menstrual hygiene, healthy practices, common misconceptions and the importance of maintaining proper menstrual health. The interactive nature of the session encouraged the students to participate and clarify their queries in an open and comfortable environment. As part of the initiative, the Board of Directors (BODs) of LCAG handed over 1,000 sanitary pads, two sanitary-pad vending machines and one waste bin to the Headmaster of MGM Class XII School, Mr. Titu Saha, for the benefit of the girl students and to promote hygienic and dignified menstrual practices within the school. Around 15 members of LCAG, including the BODs, were present during the programme and actively participated in its successful conduct. LCAG expressed its commitment to organising more such community-oriented awareness programmes in the future, covering important areas such as mental health awareness, childhood cancer prevention and other public-health issues, particularly among children and adolescents. The programme was sponsored by Lion Joydeep Saha, an active and dedicated member of Lions Club of Agartala Green. LCAG conveyed its appreciation for his valuable support towards this meaningful community-service initiative. Through such programmes, LCAG continues to uphold the Lions’ spirit of “WE SERVE”, working towards a healthier, more aware and empowered community.
