Lions Club of Guwahati South Organizes Free Eye Screening Camp at Savitri Bharali ME School Guwahati, August 11, 2026: In a commendable initiative aimed at promoting pediatric eye health, the Lions Club of Guwahati South, in collaboration with the Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital, organized a free Eye Screening and Check-up Camp today at Savitri Bharali ME School, Odalbakra. The primary objective of the camp was the early detection and management of visual impairments among primary school students. The medical team conducted thorough eye examinations for junior students spanning from Class 1 to Class 4. During the drive, several students were diagnosed with various refractive errors and vision-related issues. Students requiring further evaluation or vision correction were referred to the Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital, where they will receive free prescription eyeglasses and necessary follow-up care. Expressing deep gratitude, the school authorities appreciated the Lions Club of Guwahati South and the medical team for taking up this noble cause. They highlighted that early intervention in childhood vision problems plays a crucial role in improving both academic performance and overall quality of life for young learners.
