Lions Club of Guwahati South Extends Free Eye Screening Camp at Savitri Bharali ME School Guwahati, August 12, 2026: Continuing its dedicated efforts towards community health and student welfare, the Lions Club of Guwahati South, in collaboration with the Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital, conducted another day of free Eye Screening and Check-up Camps at Savitri Bharali ME School, Odalbakra today. Building upon the initiative, today's drive specifically catered to middle and high school students, covering Classes 5 through 10. A total of approximately 79 students were screened during the camp. The specialized medical team carried out detailed vision evaluations to identify refractive errors and other early-stage eye conditions common among adolescents. Students identified with visual impairments were referred to the Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital, where they will be provided with free corrective glasses and comprehensive follow-up treatment. The school administration and teachers extended their sincere thanks to the Lions Club of Guwahati South and the Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital for their continuous service over the past two days, emphasizing that clear vision is key to keeping students engaged and succeeding in their higher classes.
